Genuine Partners with Sorbenots Coffee to Elevate Student Experience at Eastern Oregon University
Genuine Foods, the dining service provider at Eastern Oregon University (EOU), is excited to announce a new partnership with Sorbenots Coffee, a local roaster based in Baker City, OR, with an outpost in La Grande. Beginning this fall, Sorbenots’ coffee and specialty beverages will be available on campus at Mac’s Grill in the Hoke Union Building.
Founded in 2000, Sorbenots Coffee is a family-owned business known for hand-roasting premium single-origin coffees and blends for espresso, drip coffee, and innovative house-made cold brews. Renowned for its rich, balanced, and high-quality beverages, Sorbenots has become a fixture in many Eastern Oregon communities. “Sorbenots not only produces great coffee, but they also give back in so many ways,” said Ron Wheeler, Genuine Food’s Food Service Director at EOU. “I was excited to bring Sorbenots to campus to show our support for local businesses that share our commitment to quality as well as passion for making an impact.”
The introduction of Sorbenots’ offerings, including their popular Lotus Plant Energy Drinks, has already created buzz among EOU students and faculty, adding excitement to the newly revamped campus dining experience under Genuine Foods, which began managing the dining program at the start of this academic year. For the EOU satellite outpost, Sorbenots introduced the Mountie Blend, a mix of four high quality Arabica beans that form the perfect espresso shot. The Mountie Blend is exclusive to the EOU campus.
“Sorbenots Coffee has long been recognized for its dedication to crafting quality coffee, and we are proud to feature their products on campus,” said Jeremy Jones, EOU’s Director of Residence Life and Housing Operations. “Genuine Foods’ collaboration with Sorbenots underscores our commitment to offering fresh, high-quality, and locally-sourced flavors that reflect the spirit of Eastern Oregon.”
Students, faculty, staff, and guests are invited to enjoy Sorbenots Coffee at Mac’s Grill, located on the first floor of the Hoke Union Building. Mac’s Grill is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM, and Friday from 7:30 AM to 8:00 PM. The grill is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.
