GENUINE FOODS

is different. Good different.

OUR COMPANY DNA

We believe fresh, scratch-made meals nourish people, strengthen communities, and unlock potential. From our humble beginnings serving charter schools in New York City, we’ve grown to serve with more than 100 partners across 16 states, including K-12 public and independent schools, colleges and universities, and healthcare partners.

Our story begins with our founder and CEO, Jeff Mills, who transitioned from a celebrated career in hospitality and fine dining to serving as Director of Food & Nutrition Services for Washington, D.C. Public Schools. During his time in D.C., Jeff set the standard for healthy school meals, drastically improving food quality while increasing participation and strengthening the district’s financial performance. After leaving D.C., Jeff took what he learned and brought it to a national stage, founding Genuine Foods to offer a better, more equitable model for food service.

Powered by purpose, we’ve earned national recognition. We’re proud to have been named one of Inc. Magazine's fastest-growing companies and best in business for our commitment to addressing food insecurity. Today, we are proud to partner with diverse organizations that share our belief in going beyond the plate to create positive change with lasting impact.

Going beyond the plate means we seize every opportunity to connect, impact, innovate, and nourish not just our clients, but our communities.
